Day 53 of 57: Polka, Dot?

Day 53 of 57 Days of Dresses was the last day of Jason's parents being in town for a short but sweet visit. We saw them off at the Grand Bohemian after a breakfast at the Red Stag. Jason and I went on to enjoy a nonchalant day of guitar shop-browsing, junk shop stopping and errand-running with Jason. It was truly a relaxed and sunny day.
I found this polka-dot halter dress at an Asheville thrift store for 3 bucks! The bodice features ruching from the bustline to waistline, which really makes this not-your-average halter. The V-neckline has a slight plunge that gives a little extra va-va-voom to the decolletage. The skirt falls to knee length and the halter ties make for a big, beautiful bow. This fit-and-flare A-line dress fits like a glove and is a great addition.

day 42 of 57: Boop-Oop-A-Doop

So on day 42 of 57 days of dresses I'm tired, again, after a long day of doing! I was going to the supermarket with mom, and when we pulled up there was a very friendly but lost and dirty Shih Tzu hanging out at the entrance. I couldn't help but to help the pooch out and take him by the Humane Society in hopes that his owners were looking for him (he was wearing a collar, but it had no tag). Alas, the pound was closed for the day, so he ended up spending the night with me at my apartment. After a major bath and a botched hair cut he was ready for a night of pampered care and loving attention - he couldn't sleep in the bed though!
After taking care of the pooch, I smelled like a wet dog, too. But, I was still in style with my black and white polka-dot halter dress. I bought this dress at a rock 'n' roll shop while I was living in Phoenix, Ariz. It's a total Betty dress, and I love it! It has an empire waist and a V-neck. The halter bodice ties back with four spaghetti straps. The back has a pleasing midway scoop, and the skirt hits just above the knee. This dress just screams summer, and that's why it's lasted in my wardrobe for 5 years.

Day 34 of 57: Oo, La La!

So on day 34 of 57 Days of Dresses I had an early celebration of my 28th year on this planet! That's right, it was a birthday party! And what better way to party then like a kid again at an indoor amusement park and bowling alley. Plus there's a bar! Talk about an occasion to wear a beautiful dress.
This is a sweet mini dress I got at the Salvation Army for $2. Swoon! It's an A-line shirt dress with princess seams and darts that make it fit like a glove. It has a very cool geometric pattern with of black, white and blue triangles. The plunged V-neck is accentuated with ruched seams. The dress has belt loops, which I have my favorite red belt looped through, and the front of the dress buttons from top to bottom. The short sleeves are buttoned at the cuff, and the skirt is detailed with a pleated tier around it that looks oh-so cute! Yeah, this is another dress that I love!
