Day 15 of 57: A Little Hippy, A Little Gypsy, A Little Witchy

Dress Date 15 of 57 Days of Dresses: What a fabulous orange wall! I love these strange areas that make great backdrops. A couple of days ago I saw an abandoned building that was white cinder blocks with white plywood boarded up on the windows. On one of those white boards was a large painting of a bright blue iris. It was so beautiful. I hope I can remember where I saw it!
This is a dress I got at Free People. It's made of a crinkled cotton gauze and has a wide elastic lattice waist. It's white with a delicate Indian-inspired floral pattern. The dress is sleeveless with ribbon detail and has a deep V-neck and back (I have a little red tube top underneath to lessen the cleavage it usually displays. Hey, I'm going to my internship after this!). The skirt is layered. It's just the sort of dress for a hot summer day!.

Day 14 of 57: Pearls and Polka-dots Are A Girls Best Friend

Day 14 of 57 Days of Dresses is a fabulous '50s-inspired A-line shirt-dress. After a hard day's interning at the Scene, and a work meeting right after that, I went over one of my girlfriend's place and we hit the pool! Thanks to Erin for taking these photos in her bedroom doorway!

I got this dress as a gift from Jason's mom. It's black with white polka-dots. The polka-dots are in perfectly straight rows and columns, which creates an interesting geometric effect. The skirt hits slightly above the knee and there are three black buttons on the shirt that end at the empire waist. The dress also has belt loops, which I have a vegan patent leather waist belt slipped through it, accompanied with patent leather kitten heels, and pearls, pearls, pearls! Pearls around my wrist, pearls around my fingers, pearls around my neck and pearls in my ears. I love this dress! Enjoy!

Day 13 of 57: You can call them strips, but I like to call them Parallel Lines

Day 13 of 57 Days of Dresses is Parallel Lines. Please don't leave me "Hanging On The Telephone," because "One Way Or Another" "I Know But I Don't Know." Maybe it's because I'm just a "Sunday Girl," but what I really want to know is "Will Anything Happen?" to our love. "Pretty Baby", can't we just "Fade Away And Radiate"? I mean, "Picture This": it's "11:59" and I told you "I'm Gonna Love You Too"! Please, don't tell me to "Just Go Away" or else you'll break my "Heart Of Glass". Boo-hoo.
This dress is a gorgeous stripped mini-dress with ruched sides on the bottom of the skirt and a scrunched elastic waist. I got it on sale at Urban Outfitters. It's gray and cream strips and it has a plunged V-neck with solid gray trim. I have the scrunched waist set off with a skinny red belt, which helps accentuate the loose drape of the top. The dress is comfortable and great for day or night! Dress it up with heels or dress it down '80s style with tennis sneakers.

Day 12 of 57: Purple Rain at Rock Camp!

So day 12 of 57 Days of Dresses is a soft, loose royal purple tunic dress! These picture were after a long day of teaching children how to rock at Tennessee Teens Rock Camp, so please forgive the dire look of exhaustion on my face!
This tunic dress has a U-neck and draping short sleeves. I got this on sale at TJMaxx or Marshall's. It's a soft cotton blend and falls gracefully. In these pictures I set off a lowered waist with an awesome white belt (the buckle/ clasp is the sun). The skirt falls right above the knee, which is a nice change of pace from my beloved minis.
I can't wait for next year's rock camp!

Day 11 of 57: Kitchen Warrior One

On day 11 of 57 Days of Dresses, I’m doing Vinyasa-style kitchen work trimming roses Jason got me today  and making green bean succotash with shallots and tomatoes. In honor of the summer sun, I salute him with the fresh summer harvest and my hunter green maxi dress!
I got this dress when lived in Arizona. One of my old roommates, Megan, and I actually have matching dresses – her dress is olive green and we got them at Rampage or Wet Seal. The dress has a dropped waist and a tiered full circle skirt. The top has a shaped bust and a halter tie that’s embellished with a wooden bead-studded, crocheted brooch.
P.S. – Today was the first day of Tennessee Teens Rock Camp, which I’m volunteering for. For those of you who saw me today, yes, I was wearing this dress all day. I just put the t-shirt over it!
P.P.S. – My green bean succotash is awesome! I don’t want to brag, but I’m an awesome cook.
