This is a cute like mini dress I got at a fabulous swap party a couple months ago. It has spaghetti straps, and brass snap button front closure. It has a empire waist and two front pockets. What a nice little summer dress. Accompanying the dress is a peacock and pheasant feather hair clip I made (my first one, more to come!)

day 21 of 57: Halter dress field study
Today is day 21 of 57 Days of Dresses - almost to the halfway mark! Jason and I were in the mood for a jaunt at the Percy Warner park, and came across this enchanted field. Good thing we had the camera, because it was just the place for today's dress.
I have on a fabulous halter dress I got at this great little vintage/ used boutique called Karma Rags in Huntsville, AL.The fabric is white with a pink floral pattern on it. Spaghetti halter straps ties in the back and the bodice has 4 large white functioning buttons that go down to a banded empire waist. The full circle skirt hits right above the knee. The back has a zip closure. I like to set off the waist with a wide waist belt. This is a great day dress, and can function well for low-key summer night time events too. Long live halter dresses!

day 20 of 57: River deep, mountain high and pretty in pink
So on day 20 of 57 Days of Dresses, we went to our most adventurous, sublime location ever! I was thinking how so many of the photos are taken in these urban sprawl sort of places, why not switch it up and get back to the serene beauty of nature?
This is a wonderful Free People bodycon dress I got at Pangaea. One photo is how I wore it today with my "AWESOME" t-shirt over it, and the rest of the photos show off the dress as is. As you can see it's a simple U-neck tunic style bodycon -- means "body conscious" -- mini dress. The wonderful thing about this is the asymmetric side ruching that sends waving ripples across the fabric. Did I mention that pink dresses are amazing. Love!

Day 19 of 57: After a long day in a pretty blue dress
So, today is day 19 of 57 Days of Dresses, and after a long days' work and making gnocchi and a fresh primavera sauce with eggplant, red and green bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms and tomatoes, well, I was pooped. But, I still got pictures of my dress!
This dress is a navy blue shirt dress I got on sale at Urban Outfitters. The dress has a plaid pattern on it, raw hems throughout the piece and ties in back, which all creates a rather rustic, peasant, provincial style. The V-neck has a unstructured lapel and buttons down to the waist. The sleeves are rolled and gathered up by a corded button, which give it a draped look. It's a cute little mini dress and it's great all year long.

day 18 of 57: Indian summer school pictures
So today's day 18 of 57 Days of Dresses and I am exhausted! After a rocky day at work, Jason and I went out for a light dinner and came across this strange wall mural on the side of some business called "Stitch-It." The flash on my camera gave the pictures a school hallway quality!
I got this dress as a gift from Jason's mom. It's a pretty brown mini dress with beautiful orange embroidering. The dress has a cool lattice waist that's slightly lowered. The dress has a deep-V neck that has 3 pretty little peasant buttons. I love this dress!

day 17 of 57: Minidress madness set in urban bohemia
So on day 17 of 57 Days of Dresses Jason and I found this awesome wall with an old barred window on 3rd Ave after picking me up from work today. I just love these old urban buildings!
I got this dress on sale at Urban Outfitters. It's a darling little purple mini-dress that has a pretty woven pattern all over. It's an A-line shirt dress and it has a full-length front button closure. The short sleeves are slightly puffed out bell sleeves with a fitted cuff. The U-neck has a small lapel. The widened waist is flattering and slimming. This dress also has side pockets -- very utilitarian and a total score!

Day 16 of 57: Striped green with envy (of my dress!)
Today is day 16 of 57 Days of Dresses! Not even halfway through it all! One thing I've definitely learned to appreciate is pants. I just want to put on some sweats and a t-shirt, and never care again! Oh the hard knocks of accused fashionista.
After a hard days' work at Hard Rock, Jason and I took a leisurely stroll on 21st Ave. We came by Pangaea -- one of my favorite little shops -- and thought the outside wall would make a great place for a quick shoot!
This dress is a warm gray and lime green A-line dress I got at Posh. The dress is sleeveless, has a U-neck and the skirt hits about mid-calf (I think that length is called "midi") It's a very simple dress with a natural waist, and it's made of super comfortable cotton/silk blend material. I love how the stripes are varied in thickness, and how on the skirt, the stripes are diagonal, while on the bodice they're horizontal. It just brings a fresh new look to an old style. Enjoy!
