Day 24 of 57: Mini dress a gogo

On day 24 of 57 Days of Dresses we were on our way home, and found this awesome graffiti on the side of some building off of Commerce in downtown. Needless to say, Jason and I took advantage of this awesome wall for a photo shoot.
This is a modified vintage '80s dress I got from Olivia Scibelli at a swap party I had at my house earlier this year. The dress is black with an awesome floral pattern on it, ruched sleeves and a gathered, lattice back. The dress features a beautiful off-the-shoulder decolletage and is lightly boned for a structured bodice. The dress has a back zipper. I'm wearing a petticoat to fill out the pleated skirt. The skirt's hemline has been modified to a mini, I'm not sure how long it was originally, but I had the raw edge hemmed up after I got it.

Dress Retrospective

So guess what I didn't wear yesterday? You got it, folks, a dress. I just couldn't bring myself to it, so I took a day off, but I'll be in a dress today, and I'll have photos posted, I promise! In the mean time how about a retrospective of some of my favorite dresses!

day 23 of 57: Night stalker in animal print

Today is day 23 of 57 Days of Dress! We tried some night time photography for this dress. Let's just say not every location's a winner, but that still shouldn't stop you from giving it a try, right? Lesson learned!

This cat print dress is my only Betsey Johnson piece. I really don't care for many of the styles, but I guess there's always an exception. This dress is also the only animal print dress I have. I'm always on the look out for an awesome zebra print dress, so if you see one, send it my way! It's a leopard print flared mini dress. It has solid black banding, exposed black stitching and a black back tie. The dress has a button front closure with leopard print buttons, a low scooped neck and scooped back. It's a fun little dress, and I don't wear it enough. These pictures really do it no justice!

Day 22 of 57: At the church doors in a little black dress

On day 22 of 57 Days of Dresses, Jason and I found this awesome church at the corner of 46th Ave near Richland Park, and felt totally inspired to get out the ole' camera at take some photos!
This is a cute like mini dress I got at a fabulous swap party a couple months ago. It has spaghetti straps, and brass snap button front closure. It has a empire waist and two front pockets. What a nice little summer dress. Accompanying the dress is a peacock and pheasant feather hair clip I made (my first one, more to come!)

day 21 of 57: Halter dress field study

Today is day 21 of 57 Days of Dresses - almost to the halfway mark! Jason and I were in the mood for a jaunt at the Percy Warner park, and came across this enchanted field. Good thing we had the camera, because it was just the place for today's dress.
I have on a fabulous halter dress I got at this great little vintage/ used boutique called Karma Rags in Huntsville, AL.The fabric is white with a pink floral pattern on it. Spaghetti halter straps ties in the back and the bodice has 4 large white functioning buttons that go down to a banded empire waist. The full circle skirt hits right above the knee. The back has a zip closure. I like to set off the waist with a wide waist belt. This is a great day dress, and can function well for low-key summer night time events too. Long live halter dresses!

day 20 of 57: River deep, mountain high and pretty in pink

So on day 20 of 57 Days of Dresses, we went to our most adventurous, sublime location ever! I was thinking how so many of the photos are taken in these urban sprawl sort of places, why not switch it up and get back to the serene beauty of nature?
This is a wonderful Free People bodycon dress I got at Pangaea. One photo is how I wore it today with my "AWESOME" t-shirt over it, and the rest of the photos show off the dress as is. As you can see it's a simple U-neck tunic style bodycon -- means "body conscious" -- mini dress. The wonderful thing about this is the asymmetric side ruching that sends waving ripples across the fabric. Did I mention that pink dresses are amazing. Love!
